Shaolin Soccer


'Shaolin Soccer' is a 2001 comedy film co-written and directed by Stephen Chow, who also stars in the film. The story is about Sing, a shaolin monk, who wants to promote the benefits of Kung Fu to the modern society. He then met ex legendary soccer player, Fung. Fung's career ended when he was bribed by Hung, his teammate, to miss a goal. Unfortunately the cheque that he received was fake and his leg was broken by thugs hired by Hung. Sing tries his best to explain to Fung the modern uses of Kung Fu. When Fung was irritated, he threw a beer can in his hand at Sing. Sing kicked the can so hard that it was flew hing into the sky. Later, miles away, Fung saw a large crack in a brick wall and was shocked that it was caused by the beer can that Sing kicked. He then meets up with Sing and had an idea to use Kung Fu in soccer. Reuniting with his comrades or 'brothers', who have separate lives following their master's death. At first, they have lost their skill as they had no practice. However Fung was determined to make them into professional soccer player. So, in order to do this, Fung invited a soccer team consists of local thugsto play against them in an exhibiton match. Instead of scoring, they gave Sing's team a brutal beating. Then, the shaolin disciples recovered their skill and was able to frighten the opposing team. Some of the thugs joined their team, giving them enough players to compete professionally. The new Team Shaolin enters the Professional Soccer League in China. There, they won all of the matches easily. Next, they need to win against Team Evil, which is managed by Hung, Fung's enemy, to win the China Super Cup. During the match, two of the shaolin disciples were injured,including the goalkeeper. After that, Mui, a girl whom Sing met earlier and she loves Sing, appears to replace the goalkeeper and the Shaolin Team managed to win.

Patch Adams


'Patch Adams' is a 1998 comedy-drama film starring Robin Williams and is directed by Tom Shadyac. It is based on the true life story of Hunter 'Patch' Adams who is famous for his unconventional approach to medicine and the book 'Gesundheit : Good health is a laughing matter'. The story begins when Adams attempted to commit suicide due to his father's death. Then he sought psychiatric help and was institutionalized. During this time his dream to become a medical doctor began as he realized that he could forget his own problems by helping others. He then enters Virginia Medical University. he was the oldest freshman. There, he had disagreements with the school's Dean Walcott due to his belief in the importance of personal interactions with the patients and pranks that he made. Then, he developed a friendship with Corin Fisher, another student. After that he had an idea to develop a free medical facility. With the help of Arthur Mendelson, he purchased 105 acres of land to construct future Gesundheit Institution.Together with his friends, he renovated an old,worn out cottage. Corin was interested in Patch's talent and then she falls in love with him. Corin was inspired by Patch and she wanted to help a disturbed patient, Lawrence 'Larry' Silver and got murdered. Patch felt guilty of Corin's death and attempted to suicide. Fortunately,he pulled himself together and continues with his life.
